Rhythmic granular effect for Ableton Live

DIMMA

A cloud of grains, locked to your beat.

Max for Live · macOS & Windows

64 voices

A cloud, in pieces.

A 64-voice granular engine, locked to your tempo.

Loops turn into shimmering pads, drums into stutters, a single note into a chord.

Fog splits the voices. Drift loosens them. Size stretches. Thick multiplies. Echo, space and freeze are built in, and move with the cloud.

The harmony

The color of a note.

DIMMA plays harmonies.

Turn a single note into a thick harmonic soundscape that stands on its own, or layer it under a bass line. Automate Harm for results that move with the music.

Questions
What do I need?
Ableton Live 11 or 12 with Max for Live. Max for Live comes with Live Suite; Live Standard users can add it from Ableton.
Mac or Windows?
Both. The same DIMMA.amxd runs on macOS and Windows.
How do I install it?
The download holds DIMMA.amxd and a PDF manual. Move DIMMA.amxd to a folder where it can stay, such as your User Library. Then drag it onto a track in Live.
Does it follow my tempo?
Yes. Grains lock to Live’s tempo and transport. With the transport stopped, DIMMA keeps playing at the current tempo.
Can I use it on instruments?
Yes. DIMMA is an audio effect: put it after any instrument, on an audio track, or on a return track.
Do I get updates?
Free. The download link in your receipt email always has the latest version, and so does your Gumroad Library.
What if something doesn’t work?
Email hello@tonfall.studio. If DIMMA doesn’t run on your system, you get a full refund within 14 days of purchase. Download problems and double charges are sorted out too.
